Although we cannot discuss some of the materials and components we supply, some non-classified examples include:

• Ultra flat silicon carbide mirror blanks, the material being chosen for its stiffness, light weight and ability to take a good polish
• High strength, high shock resistant ceramic components
• Parts for a reference standard - this was made from zero thermal expansion material so that the calibration did not drift with temperature change
• Ceramic armour components - the normal materials for this application are alumina and silicon carbide
• MACOR® components to hold fibre optics
