Electrical

Ceramics have traditionally been used for electrical applications, with products ranging from porcelain lamp holders to high voltage precision insulators.

Glass should not be overlooked; it also has good electrical properties.

Examples include:

• Precision tubular spacers for stacking metal plates in high
  voltage equipment
• Glass to metal seals and ceramic to metal seals in feed throughs
• Very accurate discs used as fixed capacitors
• Machined quartz glass insulators
• Bobbins for wire wound components
• Resistors printed on to ceramic substrates
